At the very beginning of the laboratory, the scientific problem was the development of rational regimes of work and restoration of older workers. The factors that were found to limit the labor activity of the elderly were identified. A professional rehabilitation of workers at work was developed, which served to implement the state social policy with adequate employment of pensioners and pre-pensioners. The age dynamics, psychomotor, physical and mental capacity of a person are described. The classification of the general working ability of a person is developed. The possibility of stimulating the elderly's to work ability on the basis of “vitaukt” - the adaptation to long-term viability of the organism. PHYSIOLOGICAL AND HYGIENIC CHARACTERIZATION OF GENERAL WORKING CAPACITY OF PERSONS OF “FOURTH” AGE O. A. Poliakov, N. O. Prokopenko, O. S. Tomarevska State Institution “D. F. Chebotarev Institute of Gerontology NAMS Ukraine”, 04114 Kyiv The investigation of physiological and hygienic parameters of general working capacity in 45 people aged 80-94 revealed that 13 % of respondents have preserved general working performance, 15.6 % subjects who acquired disorders of the locomotor apparatus during their life have motion limitations, but are able to perform certain kinds of job. Physiological parameters and data of professional anamnesis showed that about 70 % of people of fourth age had a significant reduction of self-service and total disability. People with higher level of body mass index have better functional indices of physical and mental activity. Особенности питания долгожителей

SUMMARY. It is studied features of an actual food at 36 long-livers-twins of Ukraine which not only have lived to this old age, but also have the relatives who have lived to age of long-livers. A food was studied by a method of the daily reproduction, recommended for epidemiological researches. It is established, that a food of long-livers of Ukraine is characterised by dairy-vegetative orientation, deprived practically all basic alimentary risk factors of development age dependent pathology, meets modern requirements gerodietetics, creates certain preconditions to preservation to health and longevity.
